Recruitment Notice of 2018 International Training Workshop fo Innovative Training on Smart City and Big Data in Urban Planning

9 to 13 October, 2018  | Tongji, Shanghai

 The International Training Workshop for Innovative  Training on Smart City and Big Data in Urban Planning is organized by IKCEST and  Tongji University. The theme of training is ‘Smart City, Good Life: is your  hometown smart?’.  International students who interested in smart city and big  data in urban planning are welcomed.

24 trainees, who will be divided into 8 groups

LANGUAGE

The training workshop will be conducted in  English.

PROGRAMME CONTENTS

1. Introduction of smart city  

2. Introduction of City IQ and its application, training the use of City IQ  

3. State-of-Art and Perspectives of smart city and urban planning  

4. Big data mining technology and its Application: Past and  Future，Opportunities and Challenges  

5. Best practice of smart cities in the world  

6. Challenges and opportunities for smart cities 

REQUIREMENTS

1. Trainees must follow all the lectures, workshop discusses and required  activities within 5 days from Oct. 9 to Oct. 13, 2018.  

2. Trainees must complete all exams and assessments on the IKCEST website on  time (http://www.ikcest.org/).   

REWARDS

1. Upon completion of training workshop, participants will be awarded a  certificate issued by IKCEST.  

2. Excellent performers can conduct field trips to the world’s leading smart  city practice project.  

3. Outstanding students will be given letters of commendation to the government  of the country where they are come from.

3. All application materials will be reviewed and evaluated and you may be  asked to provide additional materials or to be interviewed.

Introduction of Leading  Lecturers

Prof. WU Zhiqiang

Prof. WU Zhiqiang is Academician of Chinese Academy  of Engineering, Academician of German Academy of Science and Engineering  (acatech), Academician of Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Science and  Honorary Fellow of American Institute of Architects (Hon. FAIA). Prof. WU serves  as Vice President of TONGJI University, Co-Chair of International Steering  Committee of World Planning School Congress, Permanent Member of UNESCO-UIA  (International Union of Architects) , Member of Advisory Committee - Creative  Economy-United Nations Special Unit for South-South Cooperation, UNDP, National  Master of Engineering Survey and Design.

As Vice President of Urban Planning Society of  China, Vice President of China Association of Building Energy Efficiency, Vice  President of China Green Building Council, Prof. WU is the most influential  academic figure in the field of urbanization study and urban planning.

Prof. Wu is Chief Planner of World EXPO Shanghai  2010 and Qingdao World Horticultural Exhibition 2014 and the Chief Planner of  the Earthquake Placement Plan in Sichuan as well. Currently Prof. WU is  appointed as the chief planner of urban design concept for the sub-center of in  Beijing.
